Absolutely! These workshops are tailored for complete beginners, no experience necessary.
Our studio is in Great Hallingbury about ten minutes from Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire.
Whilst Covid is still a factor we are not running any in-house classes, everything is online.
Firstly you need to have a look at our workshops on our booking calendar and book your preferred one.
Once you have paid for the workshop you will receive confirmation and a Zoom link via email.
You will need to download Zoom in advance of the workshop and make sure that you test it to get comfortable with how it works.
You will also need to get hold of your materials well in advance of the class.
Some workshops may require you to do some initial drawing work before the class, all details will be in your email.
On the day of the workshop at the allotted time you click the link and you will be invited into the Zoom Room.
We then all paint together at the same time, and you can see our artwork close up so you just follow along with what we do to create a beautiful piece of art.
Zoom is a very safe, industry standard Video platform and is very safe to download. You can download it from here https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting.
You'll probably just need to download the first link in the list.
We have links to the materials that we like on our classes pages via this link: https://www.thearthouseoasis.com/links_to_materials/. Using our links won't cost you any more but we'll get a few pennies from Amazon if you do purchase. We try to stick to the lower cost materials where we can but you can use anything that you have at home.
Yes of course, we love it when groups get involved :-). You can book a private workshop for friends or family, or all book onto our public workshops, it's totally up to you. It's a great way for some special bonding time.
Yes we do. We provide full private workshops for the corporate sector, and we can also provide short 'Art Break' sessions (ie 10 or 20 minute packages) to break up the day. These can be fully tailored to suit your requirements.
They are roughly 3.5 hours with breaks in the middle. If anyone needs to stretch their legs, answer the door or get a cuppa at any point during the workshop that's totally fine. Comfort is key!
The public workshop costs vary depending on which one you choose.
Currently our prices are as follows although will change over time:
Pencil Workshops: £15
Coloured Pencil Workshops: £20
Watercolour Painting Workshops: £30
Private workshop costs vary depending on requirements. Email us for more info.
You can pay either via Paypal or by using your credit card. Both options are carried via the Payment gateway but you don't need a Paypal account yourself.
Yes you can. This is a lovely mindful experience for the solo artist.
We can tailor the session for you, prices vary depending on requirements.
We can try! We can tailor the session for you, prices vary depending on requirements.
Not whilst Covid is in town sorry!
Acrylic painting is on our list of things to teach, we just aren't quite there yet.
Whilst primarily we tailor our workshops for older children and adults, we find that children aged 7+ are able to follow along loosely and have produced some lovely works of art. You can check out the gallery pages here to see what our students have been up to.
